Traffic which comes from social network sites do less click on ads or banners on your site as compare to the traffic which comes from search engines. Social media traffic is normally forced the visitors to visit another site as compare to search engine referral traffic where the visitor is looking for something and willing to get more source until he or she gets what he wants. One another fact is most social media users are well aware of ads from google adsense and other ads agencies and they know the purpose of showing ads which keep them away from clicking it unless find it very informative or useful.
The percentage of ads clicking from social media directed is very less as compare to traffic from search engines, if there are 5 clicks out of 100 visitors from search engine traffic then the same clicks is from 1000 visitors. It means 0.5 click from 100 users.
According to new trend the social media network sites are being use ore than search engines and directories in some countries, in middle east there is a huge shift in the demand of social network sites and people less browse the news websites rather they prefer to spend time on social networks.
I have come cross to one of my online friend website which is producing 5000+ unique visitors and the revenue from ads showing on that website is not more than US$ 300 despite deploying different strategies. It is because the 90% traffic source is from social networks.
