How to use social networks effectively and efficiently
Social networks are dominating the world of web now. The websites like Facebook, Digg, Twitter etc has being in common use for internet surfer. There is a shift in people choice and the news and content rich websites are being less viewed on internet since the social networks has started. Last time business directories and search engines were enough to voice out for businesses but now social networks are famous for that job.
The internet social networks are same like traditional business network where you make a mind like people network which in result will leverage your business.
Different networks use different words for network member friends, some use fans, few use friends the other use fav or like etc. The purpose of all above is almost same. One should give some care in choosing network friends for business purpose. I would like to explain with network examples.
Digg
In Digg you have mutual friends and fans. Mutual friends as the name suggest the both of members click friend to each other. Fans are different in which only one party or member click friend to other member. Now here different people have not the same view. Some says more the mutual friends digg your submissions recommended diggs better the results of your submissions while others claim Fans have more power than mutual friends. Actually this is very tricky, one should understand it properly, if you have one mutual friend who is power user or say in top 100 diggers and dig your recommended stuff then it is better than 50 other normal mutual friends. Now comes to fans, actually fans digg have more weight than normal mutual friend diggs but again the top 100 mutual friend is better than fan. The digg member who is not your mutual friend neither your fan has more powerful vote for your submission. The way Digg depends on your luck too but always never wait for luck, be active and try to dig lot of other people stuff. One should not submit lot of his or her own articles otherwise Digg will ban you.
Facebook operates in multi dimensional way where you create your profile and then for business purpose you add pages and groups inside. The popularity of the pages and groups will depend on your fans and group members respectively. One should try to add friends which are active on face book and those friends have lot of other friends in their Facebook profile. You can ask your friends to become fan or member of your page or group. Every time you update any link or information on your page or group profile, all the fans/members wall will show the content of your update which means visible to more people.
Other networks also works same like above but try to understand the structure first and do some experiments which in result will give you better result for your business networking.
